Paul was elected to the CCG in April 2013 and is the Clinical Cancer Lead for the Governing Body.This involves raising awareness and increasing early detection, working to improve service quality contract and increasing screening. He is also the Chair of the Cancer Action Team, implementing and monitoring all aspects of cancer care for the borough of St Helens.
He read Dentistry at Cardiff University and Medicine at Liverpool University, which was followed by a Fellowship from Glasgow University. Paul has been a GP in Rainhill since 2000. He has a special interest in Head and Neck Pathology, Dermatology, Minor Surgery and Sport Injuries.
Paul set up and maintained a ‘Specialist Dental Practice for Oral Surgery’ in South Yorkshire, reducing referral rates to secondary care and costs. He also spent 10 years working as a Forensic Medical examiner for Merseyside Police with associated Medico-Legal work, and teaches Facial Aesthetics monthly. Paul is a season ticket holder at Liverpool FC.
