As Clinical Accountable Officer Sarah is responsible for leading the organisation. She has worked in St Helens for many years, her clinical expertise was as a Diabetes Nurse Consultant and in this role she earned a national reputation for her work and research establishing and delivering high quality diabetes care and she was also awarded a visiting professorship with Liverpool John Moores University. Following a period as Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality at the local hospital Sarah joined the CCG in 2014 as Chief Nurse and in September 2016 became the Clinical Accountable Officer.
Sarah lives in St Helens and is passionate about ensuring that local people receive health care that is exemplary and available equally to everyone. She has extensive experience in leading service improvements and working closely with local people to ensure systems are safe and effective and believes that closer integration across all local public services is the key to better care. She sets high standards for the organisation and is determined that she and the team will make a difference every day for the people of St Helens.
