Download the NHS app on your smartphone or tablet to see proof of your Covid-19 vaccination status.

NHS England will add the vaccination status to the NHS App from 17th May - however your vaccination is already visible under your GP health record on the app.
It is recommended that you download the app before booking any international travel.
If you do not have access to a smartphone/tablet and know the country you are travelling to requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination status you can call the NHS vaccination helpline number 119  from 17th May and ask for a letter to be posted to you.  This must be five days after you have completed to course of the vaccine.  The letter may take up to five days to reach you.
Your GP practice cannot provide confirmation letters regarding vaccination status so please do not contact them to ask.

There are not many countries that currently accept proof of vaccination. So for the time being most people will still need to follow other rules when travelling abroad – like getting a negative pre-departure test.

You should:

  • check the entry requirements for your destination country on the GOV.UK foreign travel advice pages
  • get up-to-date information from the website of your destination country

You may still be required to show other proof like a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, and you may still have to isolate on arrival.
